This was suuuuuch a cute book. Omg Annie and Will were freaking adorable. I loved the fake dating and seriously watching Will slowly fall in love with Annie we ABSOLUTE PERFECTION!!!! Oh my god the two of them were just swoon worthy. I melted. Now the ONLY reason why this didn’t get 5 stars is because the town folk really annoyed me. Minor spoiler ‼️ what do you mean you made a petition for two people not to date. Like what?! That really annoyed me. I also loved watching Annie come into herself and realize that what she always thought she wanted isn’t what she really needed. I also love how in the end she stood up for herself with the town and with her siblings. But the chefs kiss moment was when she finally got what she wanted in the end she found out that’s not what she really needed and she needs to find out who she really is first before she gets married. I also love that the epilogue didn’t have them married with kids. It’s just had them traveling and living their best life. And I freaking loved it. Last but not least the communication in this book is 10/10 top tier. I’m obsessed.

P.S there’s no spice and I still loved it.

a completely unputdownable beautiful story of perseverance through trauma dealing with parental figures and no real examples when it comes to romantic relationships. the main characters are so so lovable and nuanced(will griffin you will go down in book boyfriend history ily). this story was also immersive when it came to the cute small town vibes!! i loved that aspect of it as well as everything about it lol! i cannot wait for more additions to this interconnected standalone series 💗💗💗!!!

This was absolutely freaking adorable - I love Sarah Adams’ writing so much. I was swooning over Annie and Will, and felt completely connected to both characters. I loved their banter, and how well they just got each other. And the town of Rome - dang I missed them, and the antics of the townspeople. I was laughing so much.

This was our book club’s first book together. And I was hoping we would pick this one. So you can imagine my horror when I absolutely hated it. I would have DNFed at chapter 2…and 4 and 14 and 15. I listened to the audiobook at 2.3x speed just to get through it. The pirate thing was…so cringey. Then to top it off, he proposed after a MONTH. And said he loved the town he had previously said no good things about.
