"Ain't that what I'm doing too, though? Making mistakes? For the sake of the town?"

Gardens of Babylon was a quick & fun read. This was my first Sara Brooke book, and it was quite enjoyable. It was sort of like a slasher story without a slasher - it's gory & people are dropping like flies, but there just doesn't happen to be a creepy guy with a knife chasing them down.

Similar to slasher format, I don't think we were supposed to be connected to the characters. There were some odd things I wasn't crazy about like the guys being weird about being interested in an Asian girl, and the main character saying "inner-tuition" instead of "intuition". I didn't really understand the point of either of these things, but the story moved on from them quickly enough.

Gardens of Babylon has good gory body horror. It's easy to read, and the setting in an abandoned theme park was so much fun. If you're a fan of the Kill River series, you should definitely pick this one up.
