First half is very slow. Second half seems to be mainly setting us up for the next book. A very interesting plot line, though, and I’m expecting the next book to be even better.

If your version offers a chapter from the next book in the series at the end of the book, do not read it! It is  actually the last chapter of the next book. So not only did I have trouble putting the timeline together, I also already knew how everything was going to turn out before I even started the book! I can’t imagine why they would do that.

I FLEW threw book 2 in 1 day. Luke's transition into the real world and school kept me on my toes and the twist with Jason was slightly predictable but still left me shocked. Onto book 3!

This book was not as good as the first but I still could not put it down. The trick at the end is a very neat addition to it and can't wait to start on the third! The way he described the school was very strange and it goes to show that you always want what you can't have. When he was stuck in the house he longed to be outside, now that he is on the inside he longs to be home. It is completely understandable with how he was treated at school but just proves a point.

Fun to revisit these. The second one is still pretty quick and I like the character development that Luke gets. I don’t remember what happens in the other books at all, so I’m excited to pick up book 3 next

I enjoyed Among the Impostors. I’m so glad that Haddix continued this series. I can’t wait to see how it all ends - I hope happily with all of the Shadow Children freed! The ending to this book surprised me, which I liked. The twists and turns will keep kids engrossed, too. It’s a good one for learning and discussion. I love “smart” books for kids!
