I couldn't read this, which was disappointing — it was shaping up to be a very intriguing story. But the ebook's technical formatting hates humanity. At least the people with Kobo Arcs. Although, I suspect the let-downs weren't limited to once specific e-reader.

The leading/line spacing was not for claustrophobics. The lines were set so closely together that I found myself squinting, occasionally skipping a line accidentally, or repeating one. (If I could have read it in my Overdrive or Kindle apps it wouldn't have been a problem, as I'd just adjust the settings, but I got the ebook through Kobobooks, so it was put in my Kobo app library. The Kobo app doesn't allow for line hight adjustment — just the changing of font size, which doesn't solve a line spacing problem.) Default line spacing of an ebook is dictated in its technical setup, but this one fell woefully short.

The issue just made reading the book to be really hard work, which is not what I go for in my leisure reading.

And the Table of Contents has late-stage Alzheimer's. Its only listings are 'Start', 'Thirteen', and 'Forty-three' nestled amidst an abundance of blank lines.

A special force has been created to tackle terrorists. However, there are so few people in this force that it could never really operate in the real world. I know this is fiction but this single point is what gave the book the lack of credibility to make it enjoyable. The actions of the terrorists were ridiculous and they deserved to be caught, as you knew they would be from the very beginning. The whole premise of the book was a complete stretch of the imagination without the required amount of reality to make enjoyable.

A bit of a drag.

Terrific action and really good plot twist at the end that I didn't see coming.
Unfortunately, the character development was poor. The only things I learned about Sam is that he's young and his dad is/was a Detective with NYPD. I really hope these characters get fleshed out a lot more in future books.
On to #2.

Fast paced, multiple POVs but not confusing in the slightest. Its almost like the movies where it pans over to different characters in different scenes, smoothly. Plot twists like a whiplash! Awesome, cant wait to get started on the next book!
