I dislike hagiography. I’ve been guilty of it myself; one of my first written stories that I submitted was about [a:Philip K. Dick|4764|Philip K. I realize that people admire, even idolize, their heroes, and within the SFF field, that means certain authors, as, in this case, [a:Isaac Asimov|16667|Isaac Asimov|https://images.gr-assets.com/authors/1341965730p2/16667.jpg]. I understand the impulse, but this is not the kind of story that stands alone. It requires an understanding of the field, or even an understanding of Asimov’s biography, and thus is less than a story, but something different, insular, masturbatory.
