Homeboy wants a day off, trying to hide from everybody, but must go out and find a walking turnip. Literally. Nate really needs to find new friends.

It seems like Nate is a little bit tired of being surrounded by cases, but at last he came back to his friends and helped them solve their cases again. Maybe connectedness is the the thing we can not leave behind.

There is a new Nate the Great book. It is called Nate the Great Where Are You? Apparently the author of Nate the Great is not dead.I know this because she wrote this new one. She wrote it with her son Mitchell. It was a good book. Nate the Great and Sludge his dog are in the book and they have five cases in one day. Nate the Great does not want to have five cases. He and sludge go to a costume shop to get disguises so they do not have to solve their cases. Nate the Great does not like any of the disguises so they do not get any. They go to the woods and everyone thinks they have been lost. They end up having to solve the cases. Nate the Great is so great.

That is all.

Nate the Great: Where are You? was written by Marjorie Weinman Sharmat and Mitchell Sharmat and illustrated by Jody Wheeler. This book was published in 2014 for children ages six to eight. The early chapter book is a fun read for younger readers who are gaining confidence in their indepedent reading abilities. The story falls Nate the Great as he is trying to take the day off from all of the cases he has been given. Even though he tries to disguise himself and later gets lost in the woods, he still finds his way back to his friends to solve their mysteries. Most of the cases he was given he is able to solve right away but there was still one case that he could not make sense of and needed more time to investiage. This book would be great to use in a reading group setting. Students can be encouraged to see if they can solve the cases before Nate the Great does. Having students particiapte in solving the case with Nate the Great can help them with their comprehension skills because they will have to recall information they already read to find the solution. <mystery> <fiction> <adventurous>
