Title : Get Even (Don't Get Mad, #1)
Author : Gretchen McNeil
Format : Audiobook

Quick Take: Four very different girls attending an elite private school form "Don't Get Mad," a secret society that takes revenge on the school's bullies, and all is working according to plan until their latest target ends up dead and all clues point their way.

Thoughts : As a Pretty Little Liars fan, I was sure I was going to love Get Even and I was not wrong. I am totally addicted to this series now and there are only two books! Thank God there is a new Netflix series (that I've already binge-watched the first season) based on this series! Hopefully, the Netflix series will take it farther than the two books, but not drag it as long as PLL. I would recommend to fans of Pretty Little Liars, the show and book series and The Perfectionists, again the show and the book series.

Ratings : Five out of Five Stars

It was a really awesome book. Can't wait to read the next one! This book focuses more on the girls so I hope that the next one will have more to do with the mystery.

This book is definitely worth the five stars I have given it. I usually don't give written reviews of the books I read, but the book Get Even (Don't Get Mad) definitely deserves it. The plot is so well thought out, and let me tell you, this is one book where it felt like I was watching a show. Even though it is very different from the show, it is crazy good. The book finished on a big cliffhanger, leaving me wanting more. I definitely recommend this to someone who wants a mystery filled with romance and ongoing drama. I can't wait to read the sequel!

A typical angsty, high school murder mystery, complete with drama, paranoia, and lots of secrets. This was exactly what I was in the mood for and exactly what I expected. Nothing more, nothing less. On to book 2 since I still have no idea who the killer is!

The only thing that carried me through to finishing this was the murders. I know that sounds morbid, but I only cared to know who the killer was. The story does nothing for me, I don’t care about the relationships, the characters are fairly one dimensional, and I have cringed well over 20 times. I hate giving low ratings and negative reviews, but I need to be honest. It makes me sad because I loved TEN so much! I’m thinking Gretchen will be a hit or miss author for me. Maybe I’ll get around to the sequel in 2018, but probably not for a while, if ever.

Get Even by Gretchen McNeil is a interesting but mostly entertaining book about four girls who form a revenge group to get revenge on all the bullies of the school. But when the girls latest target ends up dead, they find themselves in a middle of a murder investigation.

Similar to Pretty Little Liars, I am a sucker for mystery books and I didn't really like Gretchen Mcneil's last book "Ten" but this book is way better. The main girls Kitty, Margot,Olivia and Bree are all likeable despite having some not so innocent secrets and the mystery is just way more suspenseful. Each chapter is not that long but it's very entertaining. Like a regular mystery book, all characters are shady as hell but my top three people that I think are the killers are Theo, John and Rex. Ed The Head (what kinda name is that) can't be the killer since I like him. He's like a comic relief but I gotta admit he's shady.

I didn't care about the deaths since Ronny and Coach Creed were assholes. The end of the novel has a huge plot twist! I'm excited to read the sequel!
