Volume 2 of Wasted Talent strips picks up when Angela starts to use markers to color her strips, and you can see the art style progression through this volume! It's also the one I start remembering from when I used to follow her online.
Since I started a desk job this past year (in addition to buying a house and doing wedding planning in the last two years) I find some of these more relatable, ha. There's definitely a transition of expectations from university student to the Real World and wooooooof I DO NOT miss the unemployed/interviewing days, especially trawling listings and sending applications in knowing you didn't have the 5+ years of experience and weren't sure how you were actually going to get them etc.
Definitely some contemporary-to-the-period things: Blackberry phones and chatspeak in emails, the US War on Terror's color scheme in a Chicago airport, the 2010 Winter Olympics in Vancouver... WoW etc.

Really enjoying seeing her style evolve through these books! Looking forward to more of them.

The previous volume was a lot of fun, but I think corporate engineering just has a lot less humor to mine than undergrad college.

Welcome to the Real World by Angela Melick is the second of the Wasted Talent compilations. This one covers her first jobs and her engagement to Trevor. Theses vignettes from her life are interspersed with some situational humor.

I've had this for a long time and I used to really enjoy it, but on a re-read I don't like it as much. I think it's probably a fine webcomic, as it's charming and well-drawn, but the humour doesn't land well for me any more. It doesn't completely fall flat for me since I am familiar with Vancouver and the surrounding area (where the book takes place in), but I also didn't really like flipping back and forth from the strip I'm reading to the footnotes in the back of the book. Overall I wouldn't say it's bad, but it just doesn't work for me any more.

Welcome to the Real World is a great print copy of Angela Melick's Wasted Talent webcomic. Her real-life, down-to-earth views on unemployment, getting a job, and working as an EIT are great!

The "report" throughout this volume is a fun addition.
