Quite good. Felt like the whole thing significantly expanded in scope from the first one, which seemed like it was trying to be larger than it quite was. By the time it reached the third book, this series is exactly as large as it wants to be.

Good book :)

Great writing and I was thrilled to see the pace was much faster than Book 2. I am unsure why the author spent soooo much time with building that hospital in Book 2. I wish some of the plot was in Book 2 to balance it out.

I enjoyed the characters the most in this book and could have even read more about what was happening with each of them (Kaveh, Muntadhir, Sobek, Jamshid, etc). The politics, family dynamics, unspoken love, etc was written beautifully. I was hanging on every word.

I recommend this series but  watch out for 250+ pages of slow pacing in the beginning of Book 2.
