Dirty Secret is the first book in the Slayers Hockey series by Mira Lyn Kelly, featuring a spicy Rivals’s Sister/ secret romance for Vaughn and Natalie. They engaged in a hot one-night stand that left him alone and confused the next morning. When he gets traded later to the team captained by his arch nemesis, he runs into her again— Allie the girl he can’t stop thinking about. The problem? “Allie” is actually the Captain’s little sister! With sparks flying between them like it’s the Fourth of July and Vaughn’s career on the line, will they risk it all to be together for as long as they can?

This was a great way to start a series! It was relatively low angst and fast-paced, but there was just enough drama to keep things interesting. The world building was on point with plenty of compelling characters that kept the witty banter flowing and definitely had me laughing. The spicy chemistry between Vaughn and Natalie was scorching and guaranteed to make you blush, but don’t mistake Vaughn for a one-trick pony because he could be sweet too! Look out when he’s upset though, because he could teach a master class on the grumpy/broody trouble-maker on the ice!

Vaughn falls in love with his rivals sister Allie and despite knowing it would get them into trouble, they keep it on the down low until her brother walks in busting their plans.

I actually really like this haha, it was a little funny and had a real good story line. The narrators did a good job, I just wish this would have a bit more detail BUT for a shortish story it was good!!

A nice little hockey romance, about a 6 hour listen on Audible.

Great read, the whole forbbiden romance makes it more exciting. Good sexual tension, too.

Natalie (Allie) grew you as the younger sister to a hockey player whose success overshadowed everything else. Her brother went on to be an NHL star player. Eight months ago she had a secret stolen secret night in Vancouver with an NHL player she had a high school crush on who happened to be her brother’s rival/nemesis - now he’s her brother’s teammate and they hate each other.

Vaughn was traded to Chicago and he’s playing in a city he hates, on the second line behind his high school rival. His career is on the line because if he gets into any more altercations with the team captain he will be benched and his chances of signing with a different team at the end of the season will be squashed. Then he sees the beautiful woman he hasn’t forgotten from a steamy night in Vancouver...and then he learns she’s his team captain’s little sister and she’s off limits!

What happens when Vaughn and Natalie try to stay each other’s dirty little secret until the end of the season when Vaughn leaves Chicago?

This was my first book by Mira, but it won’t be my last b. It was a fantastic read.
