I love the ace rep in this book and the depiction of mental health. The townsfolk and the vibe of the town had me questioning what was really going on throughout the entire book - there was a good sense of unease. Bittersweet, unsettling, and creepy is how I would sum this up.

I’ve never read a book of Marieke Nijkamp though I heard some good reviews of ‘This is where it ends’ but this one disappointed me a bit...
When I read the synopsis and started the story I really thought this story had a good potential to surprise me, but the ending was a little weird and I don’t feel like all my questions have been answered.
Nevertheless I read this book very quickly, reading it in 3 sittings of a couple hours. The writing was easy to read and there were much dialogues wich is always way easier to read.
But as I said the ‘exciting’ parts were a little random and not at all what I was expecting, there also wasn’t really a plottwist that blew me away as I had hoped for.

I really enjoyed it. It didn’t feel quite realistic, though. The end felt kind of strange, and so did the whole story, but I think it rattled me enough to be a good book.

Someone needs to make this into a thriller for the big screen.
