3.5 stars, slightly more enjoyable then the others. Decent storyline but I feelt like nothing much happened

I would definitely recommend reading The Gladiator before this book. I was lost for some parts of the story as I have not read the beginning of the story arc.
This book was not as interesting as some of the others. It took to long and had too much dithering to be really good.

I found this volume.of the Cato and Macro story just.a bit too long.and bloody. Not much light and shade. I feel it would have been better with fewer episodes of gory fights or miraculous escapes by the protagonist Ajax. The premise.if the story was.good with interesting.bits but too.much of it!
