I got a free month of Audible's Romance package and there are a lot of trashy romances on there for me to check out right now for absolutely free so some weird stuff might be coming up this month.

This was the most by-the-numbers romance I think I've ever read. Everything about it just seemed like it was written by a robot that had read every gay romance book ever and this was what came out. Even the narrator sounded like an A.I. was reading it, which ended up being really funny.

There was absolutely nothing special about this. These two dudes meet. They fall in love. Their families have a hard time accepting this new development in their lives. Everyone is cool with it by the end...and then, well, the end.

This is a story about MEN. Manly men who CUSS and drink BEER and fix MOTORCYCLES! Manly manly manly MEN!

This poor author tried so hard to butch up her heroes: STRAIGHT MEN who have never LUSTED after ANOTHER M-- oh wait! Alas, it was deeply unconvincing. Partly this was because the dialogue was terrible: no human beings have ever spoken like this, ever. It also didn't help that the book was just so much tell and so little show, meaning that we never saw the supposed connection building between these guys. The pacing was not good, and there were way too many scenes of one of the guys thinking very pedestrian thoughts that seemed almost like to-do lists: I have to shower and then go to work and then have suppressed lust for my male neighbor and then call mom! Henry James it ain't.

So why even two stars? The sex was hot. Until the sudden obsession with just how gosh-darn big one of the guys' cock was, it was even very hot.

Also, this was nowhere near as bad as the last two m/m romances I read. My, how swiftly my standards have fallen!

i did not like this! i was looking forward to it and i keep hearing good things about this authors books but this was my first book by them and it just wasn't for me. something was off and i was bored. i hated a lot of the writing and the way the characters talked most of the time. the steamy scenes and the dialogue in them was very cringey to me. i hated the family drama and how ridiculous it was. even though it's friends to lovers, it feels like there wasn't much depth to the relationship and it was mostly just sex. there wasn't much romance, in my opinion. not a fan and i've certainly read worse but i considered having this as a DNF. got to the point where i started skimming

This book feels like it is either written by or from the point of view of an autistic person and i absolutely loved it. I don't know if that was the intention, but it made my autistic heart happy. It was very sweet, and very real.

I liked this book. The characters worked through their problems and talked things out, kinda like normal people, instead of being all dramarific and breaking up and getting back together on a whim.

Nick Fuller has recently divorced his childhood sweetheart and he now owns the restaurant of his dreams..but something is missing…until he meets his neighbor, Bryce Tanner, and sparks fly despite the fact that neither man has lusted after another man before. They develop a wonderful friendship but after Bryce’s older brother mentions the crush, things rapidly change and BOTH guys have to come to terms with their new feelings and navigating family expectations.

I honestly had a tough time liking anybody. The families were judgmental but made out to be struggling with trusting them so it was excused. The guys definitely had chemistry but  the heavy vibes seemed to overshadow it too much. The steamy times were fun but Bryce’s obsession with being the bottom just once to prove something bothered me.

Sometimes people don’t connect with books and, well, that kinda happened here. The storytelling was pretty good though and after a while I enjoyed the audio so not a bad listen, but not a favorite either!

It took me a while to get used to Sean Crisden’s voice. I wasn’t very fond of Bryce’s voice, but after a while I was thankful for it because it helped keep the characters in order.

No se por dónde partir con esta reseña porque quedé tan molesta con los capítulos finales, que la indignación que siento no me deja pensar en nada más que ¿por qué tuve que leer esta cuestión tan mala?
