The ending saves this book. If you can make it that far ...

A sweet book that these authors made in regards to relationships with mothers. I definitely liked parts throughout seeing the mom and daughter talk through things and spending time traveling amidst some hard moments, and the ending was a somewhat expected. Definitely saw somewhere that the title of this should have been more focused on things my mother should have told me. I definitely appreciated some of these moments and made me nostalgic of my own mother.

Maybe the most important thing I learned from you: people don't always give you what you want. They give you what they have to give.

But if you stop and think about it, that can be enough.

Absolutely beautiful. Definitely made me think of my mom at times. This book makes you appreciate your parents in general and I’m very glad to have them here when I need advice or just a shoulder to cry on.

Favorite quote (also last line of the book)
“…people don’t always give you what you want. They give you what they have to give. But if you stop and think about it that can be enough.”

This quote really hit home for me since it’s been a life lesson my parents have taught me to put myself in someone else’s shoes. If you can help someone help them you never know when you’ll need a helping hand too.

I really liked this book and following the mother and daughter story. It was an easy read and I didn’t want to put it down. The story had some good twists in it as well.
