I just finished reading through this book— it was a birthday gift from a dear friend who saw the Anastasia musical on Broadway with me. I have to say, I’ve never read a coffee-table book cover-to-cover before, but this one really pulled me in. Each page was filled with not only beautiful artwork, but also incredible details and anecdotes about how the film came together. I had no idea how much work and thought went into creating an animated movie, and the amount of background and real-life examples they pulled into the animation was absolutely stunning. I really can appreciate the movie even more now, and I didn’t know that was possible. I would definitely recommend this to anyone who loves Anastasia!

A beautiful collection -- I wish there was more concept art and more sketches and designs that go deeper into the decisions behind why certain colors/designs were chosen. But as-is even though this contains many stills from the movie mostly, the movie IS that beautiful, and it's cool to see larger views of the movie up close like this.

Practically more of a history lesson than an art book. While it was really interesting to read a bit about the Romanov family and some Russian history, the so-called "art" was mostly just stills from the movie, and not concept art. The concept art we got was mostly sets, which were spectacular, but a bit more would have been nice.

I vastly prefer the new setup for the Art of books. The old set-up, for the movies like Anastasia, Mulan, and The Beauty and The Beast are mostly just text(history, folklore concerning the fairytales, and information on the crew) and stills. If they could have merged the concept art with the added information, that would have been grand, but as is, it's pretty much just an info dump. And movie stills. Which are worthless.

A bit too basic for my tastes. Some "Art of's" are much longer and more in detail. This was a basic overview with simple shots from the movie.
