So this book was pretty good. It made me cry, it made me smile, it made me throw the book across the room. I do have a few problems though.

I thought it was a bit cringey at times, and the plot was kind of pointless by the end.

The end was... not great but overall I thought it was a decent and definitely sad, relatable story.

This book is amazing! It is incredibly well written. The emotions of the two main characters are palpable throughout the book. They are incredibly real and my heart hurt for them as I read. Both Quinn and Cora are dealing with loss from a school shooting that happened almost a year ago. Cora, because her sister was killed, and Quinn because her brother was the shooter. They had been best friends, but the shooting tore them apart. Through their quest to travel back in time and change the course of that day they both begin to heal and come back to each other.

👍🏻
  • So much authentic representation!
  • Amazing characters and character development
  • Touches on heavy topics in a way that middle schoolers can understand (grief, regret, school shooting)
  • alternating point of view
  • Mrs. Euclid is an angel, the only person in Quinn's life who is trying to help her cope with her feelings of guilt and loss
