"There should be a word for when you miss a person in the future. Not just missing memories of them, but missing memories you never got to have with them." I felt like most of the story was circling around but never really calling out the main issues of the book: gun control, radicalization, and extremism.

This book really resonated with me as someone who went through (completely different) trauma in childhood.

This book is a very powerful novel. If a child is reading it I would recommend that they do so with adult guidance or with an adult. The author is a wonderful writer and the character's emotions are tangible. I felt that I could feel what the characters were feeling based on the author's description. I would highly recommend this novel for both adults and children.
