Bruce Pascoe poses important questions for Australians to reflect on what we have been taught about Aboriginal Australians. Dark Emu is an informative and challenging read, providing the reader with a new perspective on ancient land management in Australia prior to conlonisation.

*Important for all to read.*

This is most learning I've had about Aboriginal history. To think much of this knowledge is lost and purposefully ignored, makes me very sad.

Interesting perspective on the history of Australia and one which should be widely known. An important read for all.

There is so much we don’t know about this land of ours, and if we could only stop and listen it might just change a few things for the better. An important book, challenging centuries old assumptions but also providing ways forward. There is so much to learn: about growing, about living, and about listening.

I don't think I'll ever think about Australia the same way again. This should be taught in schools and the fact that I was taught so many contradictory things is an outrage. This will sit with me for a long while.

A must read for every Australian, in order to help to unlearn some of what was taught at school about settlers and about indigenous peoples. Truly shines a light on the enormity of the contribution of the indigenous Australians to our land, and ways in which they still can contribute, if we listen. Although it is not the easiest read, I'd reccomend people to take their time reading this book to fully absorb it's contents. Well written, thoroughly researched.
