Rating 3 out of 5 | Grade: C+ A bit all over the place; Even if that's heretical

Dawn of war III: The Hunt for Gabriel Angelos is a tie in miniseries for the much divisive third Installment of the Dawn of war game. Following an assault on the ork invasion of the planet, Chapter Master Gabriel Angelos goes missing, and his fellow marines mount a rescue mission unto Ork & Eldar Invested battlefields to retrieve him.

The Story is pretty straightforward, as one would expect from a 40K comic most of the scenes involve dropping a ton of lead onto a whole bunch of filthy xenos.

For me, the art style was the main draw of the mini series, at least for the first two Issues. I was glad it was not as god awful as some of the panels in 'Will of Iron' or 'Revelations' series.

Nut then, it's almost as if they ran out of money to pay their artists, and the quality took a sudden dip, especially when the narrative was revving up to more action heavy scenes. I mean, there is one panel showing a battle between a Gigant & a Eldar Revenant, that was just, just awful. I don't even want to put it here for reference.

This, plus the fact that the narrative ended with no significant events, seemed just too lazy and off-putting. Pity, seeing as how they had made some good effort shaping characters like, my favorite Myrselles the Techmarine. Who was, hilarious & badass in the same breath, despite his face hidden with a helmet, and being you know, a Techmarine.

This being a Blood Ravens chapter, you'd expect some good loot worthy memes, but except for a reference to the hilariously memed Captain Boreale there was nothing much. 'The Search for Angelos' is a videogame tie-in, and it shows.

There is this one badass shot of an Imperial Knight in the background, which I wish had played a larger role in the narrative. You can't just show a knight and not show it in action.

For a W40k fan worth the short time, see some cool action and especially if you like Dawn of War. For the rest? Too short story with no actual story arc, sometimes messy drawing in my taste and war.
