Am I literally the only one who loves reading books with love triangles? I mean, who wouldn't want to read a book with two hot dudes fighting over a girl's attention? (Okay fine, part of it is because I may or may not enjoy choosing between the two of them) Please. The fact that Skye's character is so well made just adds more to the thrill.

Oh and btw I have no clue why I find Devin more of a bad boy than Asher.

This is probably my favorite book in this trilogy.

The suspense for me was amazing. Everything was tense and ready to fight at a moment's notice which left you wondering when there would be an all out brawl between the two sides. So much is at stake in this book, pretty much the fate of the world is on our main character's shoulders and on her decisions, so everyone is trying to persuade her in some way. And at the same time, she has to protect her family and friends from what's going on and it take it's toll.

She grows so much as a character I was astounded. From the beginning of this book, when she is weak and confused, to the end where she masters some of her powers and makes the most important decision of her life, it seems like she's two different people. That is probably my favorite part of this book and trilogy, seeing how the main character becomes a confident, badass woman.

Although it's not really the main focus, the romance also develops a lot. The annoying, basically made up love triangle in the first book that I did not like, vanishes and in it's place is a new, strong relation between our main character and one of the angels. At first I did not like her choice, but in this book, I really changed my mind about it.

Those last final moments in the end were amazing! We're down to the wire, our main character has to make a choice and it's the hardest, most painful one, but also the one she needs to make. She comes into her own and finally realizes where she really needs to be, not in one side or the other, but as both, just like she is.

I loved the second book as much as the 1st. For me the story slowed a little and there were some parts, and for those who have read it will know, were a little too obvious *cough Jo cough*. I can't wait for the third book simply to find out who sides with who and the overall outcome. Itching to see if Skye can bring together her wants and needs.

A Beautiful Dark left with Skye on the brink of death. Now she wakes up completely healed and with a very worried dark angel by her side. The horrible betrayal and Ash’s promises make her stick with the Rebellion. But her angelic powers are still wacky and if she hopes to control them, she needs to embrace both sides of her heritage. The pressure of choosing sides becomes harder when she starts having visions of Devin. How can she choose one and destroy the other, when the truth is life needs both to survive?

A Fractured Light is the exciting sequel to one of my favorite angel series ever. Thoroughly enjoyed diving into this world again!

The choice Skye has to make is not easy, and I love the way Davies handled it. Skye is trying to fit herself to only one side when she’s clearly of both. This problem echoes in the romance as she loves Asher, but can’t deny she feels something for Devin too. I would’ve liked more interaction between them. I thought a lot of time was wasted in the cabin. Sky didn’t seem all that concerned that her aunt Jo thought she was missing or that her friend Cassie was seriously hurt. She stays there in the cabin just thinking things over and over.

Soon enough, she returns to town and then things pick up when Skye starts having visions of Devin. I thought she’d be over him after what he did during the first book, but things are never that simple. The fact is that under the Order’s rule, Devin has no control over his actions. You see him struggle with this more in this sequel. His moments with Skye made me want to weep! It’s so tragic. Skye feels protective of him, she still cares. Of course, this doesn’t sit well with Asher. When push comes to shove, will he do what’s best for Skye or the Rebellion? I’ll leave that for you to read ;)

New characters are introduced in this sequel. Ardith and Gideon, both rebels, and Raven makes an appearance too. And favorite of them all, Cassie! I missed that girl. But I thought telling Cassie the secret about her powers this second time was a bit too easy. There was this who danger hanging over them, that if she told Cassie would come to harm. Yet she tells her and that’s it. Nothing happens. No danger comes their way. Oh well. I can always hope for disaster in the next book!

The ending had a few twists and thrills. Sky realizes things aren’t only black or white, they can be grey too. It wasn’t as horrible a cliffhanger as the first one, but it still left me very excited and eager to know what comes next now that Skye has embraced her heritage.

***Possible Spoilers If You Haven't Read A Beautiful Dark***

First off let me just say that I love the cover to A Fractured Light soo much more than A Beautiful Dark. I don't know what it is about it but it's just so dark and awesome!!

In the follow up to A Beautiful Dark we find that Skye has survived the attack from Devin. She wakes up in a remote cabin with Asher and an unknown rebel named Ardith. The details are vague on how she was healed but she is and she accepts it as it is. When they return home she has a lot of trust rebuilding to do since their story is she just disappeared with Asher without telling anyone where she was going. Skye does a lot of growing during this book. She harnesses her powers and by the end she has decided what side she will be on and what she will fight for. I must say I am happy with her decision, I was worried there for a while but she did good. It makes me really look forward to the next book to see how it all plays out.

Parts of this book really aggravated me, a big one being Skye's naive attitude about the people around her. Her Aunt Jo acts crazy weird and Skye notices it but never questions it. I mean with everything she's found out about herself and her parents you would think she would question why her aunt has such a strong hatred of Asher, an almost guardian like hatred!! The same goes for Ian, he's always so moody, but she never wonders why. She comes up with excuses for all sorts of things that are flimsy at best, I guess I expected her to be smarter than she was acting. Another big thing was of course the love triangle. It wasn't horribly bad in A Beautiful Dark so I guess I let my guard down and thought it would be the same in this book. Let's just say it amped up and had me yelling at Skye during nerve wracking moments about all the mistakes she was making.

Aside from a few personal issues I had with it, the book was overall good. There was a touch of suspense; wondering when things would go down between the rebels and guardians and what side Skye would take in the end. We learn some new things about Skye and her powers and the story of her parents but not a whole lot. I really don't know that there is a lot to find out about them, in a way I kind of hope there is some mystery surrounding them that we haven't yet found out. In my opinion it was a good middle book. There was enough going on to keep the reader interested but I feel like it was a lot of filler. Like if it had been in the final book the issues that made up the whole of A Fractured Light would have been wrapped up in just a couple of chapters. I do plan on reading the final book because I have a feeling there will be all sorts of craziness going down!

Book 2 picks up with Skye healing and Asher taking care of her after Devin stabbed her. I found Skye to be somewhat annoying in this book. I don't remember if she was the same in book 1 but she was soooo wishy washy about everything. She loves Asher but she also isn't sure about how she feels about Devin...even though he tried to kill her...WHAT?!?

Perhaps I should have re-read book 1 to refresh my memory...the Rebellion is still fighting The Order and now they are fighting for Skye as well.

No spoilers here. I am curious to see where the next book goes as although it wasn't a full on cliffhanger, there was definitely a huge development with no true closure.
