I really liked the character designs and Jason Aaron's dialogue writing skills are pretty consistently fine, but this volume is disjointed - split near the end between two major Events, the latter of which we the readers of this series are unaware. Mostly this volume is a bunch of 1-on-1 performative fights between different characters, pitted against one another by the Phoenix, though the story never really explains why.

I'm starting to think Aaron doesn't understand what makes Marvel great.
