This creeped me out but I couldn’t put it down. The dark and foggy art style mixed with such a visceral folk horror story creates a very compelling, haunted atmosphere. There’s a little uncertainty in nearly every panel that adds to the tension. I’m a little confused by by the ending but the whole book is a little disorienting, just small tale within a much larger and incomprehensible context. I’m realizing how much I enjoy this genre in graphic novel form and hope to find more like it.

I didn't really vibe with the general art style, but the story was fantastic. A Scottish folktale brought to life in brutal, horrifying detail. One of the best horror graphic novels I have read this year.

Sometimes being cryptic can go too far and just become annoyingly confusing and that’s what happened here for me.
