What an utterly devastating diary.  I was hopeful for her even in her darkest of times.

OMG.
This book as so amazing, thrown into a world of betrayal, false love, mistakes, and stupidity I found myself seriously connecting with Alice. And by the end of the book I truly though of her as a close friend, who was having a long conversation with me, and when she died I was surprised and distressed. I will not ever forget her story, and I personally have learnt a lot from it.

Spectacular, heartbreaking, insightful. This book is well worth the read. While admittedly I questioned the authenticity of this diary a few times, the experiences and narrative give sobering insight into the life of a young drug addict.

I couldn't finish this fast enough. It was a bunch of bs and obviously not true diary pages written by a 15 year old girl in the 70s. It sounded more like an adult trying to scare people about drugs and using language from the 50s.  I'm sorry but you were given lsd unknowingly, had a great trip and then went on to heroin and pot with Crack? I don't think so.

This book is not real, it's poorly written to convey a child and completely unrealistic in how fast things happened and how this child would have reacted or handled all the drugs she was taking. Plus the language and the maturity that was given was just nails on a chalkboard....again, it was an adult writing like they were a teen.

Lastly the ending...she just mysteriously died? Pft.

This book belongs in the trash, how it was published and everyone ate this garbage is beyond me.

Don't waste your time.

I read this book when I was 17 because my mom wanted me to in a scared-straight kind of way. Would definitely recommend, and I will probably reread it again now
