definitely did not think this series would be this good after the first 2 books, but it really rallied. this one wasn’t as good as book 3, but still like how the series wrapped up.

So far there is way too much description of battles and landscapes and palaces and very little dialogue and relationship building between characters.... trying to push through.

RATING : 5/5
I am just amazed after reading this book. I stopped reading the series after kings cage as I find glass sword and kings cage a bit boring and filled with lots and lots of fillers. So I decided to give this series a break for some time. And this book fulfilled everything that I expected from glass sword and kings cage. This book is so interesting as with every chapter there's a twist. A betrayal or some new feelings discovered.
This book showcase character development of Evagaline, Ptolemus, iris, Davidson and several other characters that didn't got much importance in previous books.
I personally like evagaline for the decisions she made and how she supported mare at times. Iris is a powerful character as well. In this book the bond of Cal and Maven can be felt more than other books. However the ending still felt incomplete to me but it's a worth reading book of this series.

Beginning from mare. I felt her more powerful in this book than the previous ones but still I didn't felt the character development of mare as Jon told her. I wish I could see her more powerful but I've always felt that her character is on the softer and more lovable side. But I like the way she stood her grouds in this book and always siding for her motive to make reds and silvers equal.

About Maven, I guess he's just corrupted whatever we see of him in this series isn't him it's just a puppet of Elara. But I think that he atleast tied not to listen to elara. But he can't help that as well. But what I like in this book is that it's always Said that Maven isn't a warrior cal is a warrior but I felt that Maven is a warrior atleast he ruled, fought against scarlet guards , his brother and Cygnet as well. He fought till last for his escape. He fought and he died while fighting which I appreciate in him. I just can't bring to hate his character.

Cal .. OK so he just seemed powerless to me most of the times in the book. Sometimes because of Maven and sometimes listening to Anabel and not making right decision not choosing mare even tho he got chances many times.

Evagaline.. I like her character atleast she chose what he want and I appreciate her character for the fights she put up. She seems a really smart women. It almost seems like make evagaline the king of silvers she will rule better.

Farley and Davidson at the oh so too good characters of the story I can't find anything bad in what they did.

I like how there were twists in stories like cal wining and capturing Maven, then Davidson taking Maven with him. And how iris contributed to Maven and her own fall by betraying Maven. And how scarlet guards and Montfort army left cal side along with mare and what things lead after to that.
I just wish Maven deserves something better. Someone who can understand him or some part of the story where he is portrayed as Maven and not Elara's Maven.

This was a great ending to the series. Though some parts were a bit long and hard to get through, most of this book was great! I loved the multiple points of view in this book a lot more than the previous book. Each perspective was necessary and informative. I really started liking Evengaline in the previous book, but this book solidified it!
