Exactly what you expect from a historical romance. Likeable main characters with the usual background trauma to lend them pathos. Plot was mostly believable though the final drama felt a little contrived. But both were well drawn and the side characters compelling and fun. Sex was just okay, not great. Luckily not too much of it. Final resolution was a bit of a letdown. I would have preferred something that used the "powerful intellect" of the heroine. But I didn't hate it.
