This police procedural is largely character driven. While I was sometimes frustrated with the characters, their emotions and actions seemed true to life. A few cases were being solved throughout the book which kept the plot moving. Tense relationships between the characters kept me reading until the resolution. I especially enjoyed the tension between the Integrated Homicide Investigation Team of the RCMP and the Trafalgar City Police. Molly is a strong female protagonist. This book is the fourth installment in the Constable Molly Smith series, some of which are available in eBook format.

Negative Image by Vicki Delany is the fourth Constable Molly Smith mystery. A photographer is found shot to death in a hotel and John Winters's wife Eliza is the primary suspect. The damning evidence is a thirty year old photograph of her.
