Source of the word "Shangri-la", and it seems, a massive best seller when published. It hasn't aged well.

This is a complicated book - takes place in Tibet (for the most part). I love the story (surreal, multiple meanings) and the diversity of characters. It was written in the 1930's and is still a classic.

Dream-like prose. Highly enjoyable. Fun mystery

A fun and interesting read. This is one of those annoying yet philosophical books that always asks more questions than it answers. This makes it both frustrating and powerful, and well worth reading.
