Very confusing book. The book feels like incoherent thought.

If you pick up this book prepare for a sad story. I didn’t cry but it was a journey filed with pain from the main character and everyone around her. I had to read this book for a college class and found it to be another sad queer story centered around queer pain. If that’s what you want, great but the story felt too heavy for what it was. The images and art were very good and it was good to analyze.

Witty, gritty and absolutely brilliant! If a young reader hadnt recommended this book to me every time we talked about books that challenged our perceptions of feminism, mental health and identity, I wouldn't have even known to buy and read this book.

Author and illustrator uses her sharp pencil based drawings I think to discuss serious subjects like suicide, death, love, sexuality and mental health, while describing Kari's journey through the smoky and bursting with life - Mumbai.

Now even I will be recommending this graphic novel to anyone I talk to books about :)
