It's a good thing every picture tells a story because I can't read french.

This collection of exquisite photographs from English born photographer, Sarah Moon, who started her career in front of the camera, as a model, evoke a surreal feel for both fashion and every day life. Black and white, as well as color reproductions that give you the uncomfortable feeling of invasion. The moody darkness, gossamer blur, as if peeking though a rainy window or gauzy key hole.

I would love to have "Yolena E., 1996" in my collection. Or any of her prints, truth be told.

Putting herself behind the camera led to her own fashion magazine spreads and later gallery exultance. Highly praised and often awarded, Moon holds high esteem long after her death in 2017.

One of the 69 photographic collections published in the "Photo Poche" series, created in 1982 by the Centre National de la Photographie, Moon's won The Cultural Award from the German Society for Photography.

"For me, black and white is closer to introspection, to memories, to loneliness and loss."
