Barrier is a great collaboration between Brian K. Vaughan, Marcos Martin and Muntsa Vicente. And a very significant story about overcoming differences. Hispanic characters speak Spanish and anglophone characters speak English. The way the story is written and visually conceived, it can be read by someone who understands English but not Spanish, by someone who understands Spanish but not English or by someone who understands both. It is a story about the gap of cultures and how to communicate both the difference and what is shared, as humans. It's probably a good idea not to advance any more commentary so the plot is not spoiled. I really liked this series, but I wished there had been a tad more closure. It is bilingual (English/Spanish), but I was able to get the gist of the Spanish-language sections even with my extremely rudimentary Spanish.
