The idea has so much potential and I really liked the first section with the southern territory. The rest was just boring and seemed pointless

Good book. Interesting alternate history and interesting characters. I found the narrator to be very interesting. I felt we were learning to see her as she was learning to see herself.

I want to immediately reread this. Study it. Swallow it whole. The book of the year.

A bit on the fence on that one. I loved the book within a book format and found the "author"'s realisations about her wife deep and touching. I wasn't sold however on the parallel dystopian United States. I'm not sure what it added apart from an occasion for the real author to make trite statements about the current situation in the US.

A really good book and though it took me sometime to get unto it, by the time we were in the second half, I just couldn't put it down. Loved it.
