Low Bridge! Or The Dark Obstructions - M Bennardo ***
Captures the unspoken difficulties of communication and second-guessing each other's feelings and motivations in a relationship, the internal imagined arguments that are wiped away when one of the partners speaks. The conflict with the writer over whether spirits are real was a lot less compelling than the newlyweds' relationship, although it allowed the comparison of the different "obstructions".

The Wind's Departure - Stephen Case ****
Really enjoyed the world of this one, which has been explored in earlier issues. The way the consequences of keeping a promise, ultimately against the beneficiary's will, are treated was really well worked. The complexities of the relationship between the main character and the girl he is trying to free drew me in and the mysteries around the wizard and the god were fully satisfying.
