A collection of short poetic reflections. Some inspired me, some gave me new insight and perspective on how story, song, and poetry tie us to each other and the land.

Every one of the 50 entries is a doorway into a deeper connection between experience & poetry. A gift of a book from a remarkable poet.

Lots of thought provoking stuff here, but a couple of disappointments as well. I just finished this book today, so I’ll write more after I’ve had a chance to think on it.

Spring 2023 (March);

I was in love with the sound of this poetry book and its reflection on the last 50 years of publishing poetry when I first heard about it, but listening to it was a whole extra level. I've been steadily falling deeper and deeper into love with Harjo's poetry over the last 3-4 years, and I absolutely make it my business to pick up all her new pieces.

This was gorgeous, and I felt my heart swell in my chest so many times through this expanse of her experiences, both poetry and vignettes.
