This book was hard to get into. I think I was bored for the majority of the book. It was exciting the last few chapters finding out who the murderer was and why they did it. I wish it had been more exciting and mysterious the whole way through.

A truly excellent novel. Had fun with this one!
I sincerely appreciate how Christie was unafraid to write flawed characters. I think we've done away with that. No wonder I've been so desperate for villainous characters. Heroes are so boring.
I love how she also wrote a lot of cute moments, like Roger apologizing to the screen door when he ran into LMFAO he like me fr, and Charles' dad's speech about how as kids, we act upon impulses and we don't know right from wrong or understand consequences, but as we grow, we begin to shape our morals, but for some people, those "brakes" that stop us from doing something are never applied or installed in the first place. Incredible writing.

I think my favorite character in this novel was Roger. Fear of losing his father's affection, feeling like a failure for not being able to live up to his father's image and do what he'd entrusted him with...and honestly, I feel for Clemency, too, wanting your husband's affections but having to compete with a family and all of their money...
Also: Knives Out is 100% Crooked House.
