Out of all her books in this series, this is the one I remember least. Not because it wasn't as good, I just read it so quickly that I am fuzzy with the details.

I loved the interactions of the characters in this book the most I think. The way they developed their relations further and kept us on edge was totally tantalizing.

Also an entertaining read. See Blood Lines for the rest of my thoughts on the series.

This book really had some emotional impact, far more than the previous entries, which slides the story up to a four. There's one scene toward the end that made me burst into tears. Well played, Tanya, well played. If you own guilt over not keeping in touch with your mother this story will deepen the guilt.

My main quibble was the rushed ending. Say what? Such a major event takes place and zip-a-de-doodah, the timeline races headlong into the future?

The ending really captured a false note.

Still, the story is a solid read. Oh and there's character development! Finally!

It all goes a bit sci-fi for Vicki, Henry and Mike in the 4th book in this series. The love triangle is in full force too. I wasn't expecting the ending (it made me double check I hadn't read the last book in the series by mistake).

I can't decide if this my favorite or Blood Lines is my favorite. Very good. Modern day Dr. Frankenstein turns Vicki's mother into a Frankenstein monster. The best part of this book was the ending. I won't give away what happened though. You'll just have to read the book.

Original 4 Stars.

Re-read 3 Stars.

This was not what I remembered.
The sad moments dragged. Vicki was (for me), unlikeable, unsympathetic.
I enjoyed the take on Frankenstein, how it was re-told. I particularly liked the Doc being female. Very appropriate (not a spoiler, you're told almost from the start).
My Mikey was adorable and annoying all at the same time.
Henry became likeable again, but nothing more.

The end was too sap, too cliche, and apart from the depression inspired first 3/4, was the reason for the lower rating. You'll see it coming a mile away.

I... just... wow. This went from being a mediocre series to pure muse abuse, throwing logic, sanity, and pre-existing characterizations under the bus. It's been a long time since I've told a book to go stick its head in a pig.

Glancing to the next book in line, this rots. I'm not willing to keep reading.
