Beauty and the Blacksmith is a novella set between the third and fourth books of the Spindle Cove series and features Diana Highwood and Aaron Dawes.
Diana has been always flouted as the most beautiful of the Highwood sisters and expected by her mother to marry well. But she also suffered from asthma in her youth and until recently forced to sit on the sidelines of life.
This was a great lighthearted novella that didn’t have any major obstacles for the couple to overcome. Diana’s character and expectations are built up in the prior books so I liked that she ended up being a strong heroine that stood up for what she wanted and went against everyone’s expectations There’s only been glimpses of Aaron in the prior books, but it wasn’t hard to connect with him.
It’s a sweet storyline with a bit of spice with two encounters.
