To be honest I was hoping for more of a Cinderella vibe. I enjoyed this story once I was able to get into it fully but I didn’t like how the author decided to switch points of view throughout the story as much as she did. However, all in all a good story.

Wow. I really hated that. Like, *really* hated it. By 40% I was reading out of sheer spite and a determination to finish it just so I could say how much I hated it.

God I love Jennifer Crusie's books! They give me such a good feeling about life and..human kind in general. They're a funny and light read with an undercurrent of some serious issues. Love it!

Charming and cozy marriage of convenience novel - the initial impetus for the marriage doesn't hold up logically in the least for either character and there are a couple of similar hiccups along the way. But the characters are warm and multifaceted and at a certain point you give up needing the whole thing to make sense and just enjoy spending time in the world of this story.

3.5: early Crusie, so not as developed (plot-wise or 2ndary character-wise) as her more recent work, but still funny and great primary characters

Opposites attract, right?

Daisy and Lincoln are as opposite as two people can be, so why are they together? To bring out the best in both of them.

Though I feel I may have read this book when it first came out in 1996, it was a welcomed quick read to my list.

I think you will enjoy this book for it's quirkiness, silliness, lightheartedness, and more.

This still remains one of my favorite Jennifer Crusie books. I reread it at least once a year (sometimes more) because what girl doesn't dreams about a fairy tale ending.
