Pแดss Iษดแดแดส๊ฐแดสแดษดแดแด by Emily Silver โ Denver Mountain Lions
Colin & Peyton
๐๐๐๐
Colin, the star wide receiver has finally driven the team to tell him to fix his playboy image or find a new team. Peyton, looking to earn credits to graduate, is tasked with babysitting Colin for the semester. Working together will either destroy their careers or answer so many unanswered questions from their past.
I enjoyed heading to Denver to spend more time with the Mountain Lions as this team is so entertaining. Colin and Peyton have some major tension between them due to their past but clearly, they have never truly gotten over each other as their chemistry is still scorching hot. I am looking forward to the next time we get to head back to Denver.
๐ง Rose Dioro and Teddy Hamilton were great choices to bring Peyton and Colin to life and give their story a voice.

โโYou like stats, so let me give you some stats on our relationshipโฆ Iโve been in love with you for seven years. Since the moment I laid eyes on you. Every second of every minute of every hour of every day. For seven damn years... My favorite thing was holding your hand. Is holding your hand. I always wanted to be connected to youโฆ I love you, Rocky... Without a doubt, youโre the best catch Iโve ever made.โ
A watery laugh escapes. โA little cheesy, donโt you think?โโ

This second book in the series didnโt start off as strong because we are really supposed to hate Playboy Colin (Emily, you do a good job with that). BUT, when we really get to know Colin, the one Peyton loved all those years ago, then itโs easy to see the redeemable man behind the โplayerโ mask. Thereโs a bit of mystery in this story because we have to find out what happened five years ago that drove them apart, plus we get to see some extra fun around Denver as Colin is on his PR tour to rehab his image.
Not gonna lie, I wasnโt so sure about Colin. I mean, he was really shaping up to be the a**hole playboy and I didnโt think he deserved a love story... but Emily led us down a path to completely turn it on its head. Not only was that all an act, but Colin is TOTALLY lovable. He gets nervous about impressing children, gets super gooey at puppies (I mean, who wouldnโt?), and he can turn on the charm when necessary.
Overall, this book was super cute and I really liked it. Plus, Colinโs POV when talking about his love of football spoke directly to me. There just is something about football that gets me excited, makes me feel at home, and gets me amped. Then hearing about how much Peytonโs love of the game grew throughout her life to the point of making that world her career? Thereโs not a lot of space for women in this world, but Peyton found her niche and I admire her for that.
And, on a side note, can we just take a second to talk about the scenes with Darlene? Colin and the team participate in one of those charity date auctions. So when another teammateโs grandma bid (and won) on Colin, the scenes we get with their interactions are *chefโs kiss* GOLDEN! I couldnโt stop giggling... especially when Knox got really uncomfortable. But be warned, bingo is a dangerous game! ๐

Iโm still in awe that my cousin, Emily, is an author! Iโll be reading all of her books this year to spice it up and of course support her!

Colin is the bad boy playboy on the team and in this book we learn why. When Colin makes a poor decision which gives him some bad publicity, he is given someone to help him work on his image. The person is none other than the one who got away, the reason he turned into a playboy. Now that she is back in his life, Colin is not going to let her get away!

I loved Peyton and Colin in this book but I do believe that if they both weren't stubborn and actually talked there wouldn't be this big misunderstanding. Now Colin does come through in the end when he initiated the talk and got both sides of the story. I also love how he continues to keep fighting for her even with all the road blocks in the way.
Some of my favorite quotes that just make me fall head over heels for Colin:
"I love you, Rocky. You're the best thing that's ever happened to me, and I don't know what I'd do if I lost you for good. Without a doubt you're the best catch I've ever made."
"as long as you score three touchdowns...""...for you Peyton? I'll make it four."
This book when it came to Colin in the end made me actually cry. I also loved how he handled the situation with his dad.
Now the things that I didn't like were Colin's dad. I ABSOLUTELY HATE THAT PIECE OF SHIT!!! I know what it's like to have a parent live vicariously through you and it fucking sucks. What he did to Colin was down right evil and he should go die in a ditch. I'm pretty sure what he did could classify as some form of abuse in some way. I also slightly hate Colin's agent Earl... without getting into spoilers there's brief period where I wanted to slap that man so damn that it wasn't even funny but then he slightly redeemed himself.
But all in all, I do recommend reading this book.
