Reading this book was a little painful for me but painful in a good way. I was so nervous for Alida and Gavin as they went round and round the country side looking for the faeries' new home that I had to put the book down a couple of times and just take a break. I know...I cannot deal with too much suspense. I know, a 35-year-old adult describes a children's book as suspense is weird but I really felt that way. Like I wanted them to move faster and hide better and just find the faeries already. I enjoyed reading the book nonetheless and the world building is just really lovely. The story is simple so that obviously it would be easier for children to follow but it gave me enough space to build the world in my mind and the illustrations (pretty but not that many) are beautiful and help add to the image I have built in my mind's eyes. 4 stars because I felt that there were some parts that were slow (or maybe I'm just too cranky) but I would still recommend this book to my young students who loves faeries.
