Such a huge let down after the first book and as it went on it just got worse.

I actually LOVED this one more than the first one. Mostly because I’m such a hoe for fluff, but also because I loved seeing a different dimension to Lily’s character. The miscommunication trope was heavy with this one but I think Lily’s struggle with knowing how to balance her relationships while also tending to herself and her emotions was relatable. I think I’m going to make this a regular Christmas read.

I liked the story, but I struggle with the character of Lilly. I thought she might have been younger, like 13 or 14, but it appears that she is doing dog walking and SAT prep. Then I thought maybe she is handicapped, and that is why she seemed so immature? But based on the actions of others, maybe the authors just made a choice to write her like a complete unlikeable selfish ass. I personally do not understand why Dash even bothered with her or her family if they are going to treat him so poorly. Also, the authors made Boomer into the biggest idiot in the history of time. He started out okay, and by the end of the book, I'm surprised they didn't have him eating crayons.

2.5 Stars: This book certainly wasn't as good as the first book. For starters, the first book had a pretty good ending, so this whole book just kind of seemed unnecessary. Although it is a short book, it felt like it lasted forever because the plot just drags on and on. Lily continually makes the same bad decisions and then everything keeps going in a circle. The only part that I really liked was when Dash organized the scavenger hunt of places with the red notebook for Lily. Other than that, the book just didn't feel like it was going anywhere. I still enjoyed it, but I feel like if this book never existed we wouldn't be missing out on anything.

I didn't love this as much as the first one, but it was still fantastic and a great follow on from Dash & Lily's Book of Dares.
