Talk about gothic horror!! This book was WAYYY better than interview with the vampire for me. Am I a Lestat apologist now?? Maybe!!

found Lestat and this book to be less compelling then IwtV if I'm being quite honest. I found the first half or so to be a chore to sit through and I felt it only picked up steam once
  his mom was turned
and introduction of Armand and Marius who added quite a bit of interesting worldbuilding.

This book was way to long for it's own good. Some of the writing was over the top and the story dragged on in a lot of areas that it didn't need it and in some areas it wasn't enough. I got to 242 and was about to dnf it but since i was reading it with a friend I was going to try and finish it. So I found a audio book which was better but not by much.
