Neela and her mother frequently cook together as a way to bond and feel closer to Neela's paati (grandmother). On one market trip, they come back with loads of tomatoes and spend the day making sauces to eat during winter.

A very sweet book with beautiful illustrations along! This was very nostalgic for me and i loved making my son listen to it.. he loved it too!
A tad too long for a 3 year old that has very little focus!
I will keep reading it to him as he grows old!

This made me want to get into the kitchen and make some memories making what sounds like the most delicious tomato sauce with my own mom. Loved the artwork.

What a GORGEOUS book!! So much heart here, I love books about food, the text was lyrical and lovely and Juana Martinez-Neal is just the most stunning artist.

A celebrity written picture book about food. Oh boy, this could be a disaster. That not even Juana Martinez Neal could save....

THANKFULLY it was such a sweet ode!
