A good read
I finally closed out the Cruel Prince series.
It took a while to get into the first book but then I was hooked. The second book I loved. This book I thought I would love but it was ok. This book was action packed.
I’ll try not to post any spoilers but I’ve realized a lot of my issues stems from the main character Jude and her actions. I get it reflects her age but sometimes I wanted to scream at her that it’s a trap or people are trying to help and to think her actions through. Im glad she wasn’t some super strong I know how to do everything trope. Or that she was some super weak girl who was so innocent. But for some reason she just isn’t my favorite main character. I enjoyed Cardan and wished he had more book time to be honest.
The relationship between Jude and Cardan also felt a bit quick? Like they went from enemies then trying to outsmart each other to loving each other. Maybe if we had more moments of them interacting instead of just I hate him and he hates me it would made more sense and not felt so rushed?
The end felt a bit anticlimactic and the punishments were a bit of a let down. I’m not sure but this book felt a bit rushed overall. A decent action packed read but not as amazing as I expected. Maybe if the characters were aged up a bit it would be different?

An amazing conclusion to such a wonderful and compelling series.
The growth that both the main characters have gone through was such a fun treat to read.
Jude had easily became my favourite book character. Her seemingly unending strength to continue moving forward despite being hit with practically everything is inspiring to say the least. Yet despite it all, we see how vulnerable and human she is which makes her a whole lot relatable in a series full of magic and faeries. I will forever be a Jude stan.
If Jude has no fans, that means I am dead. Im so serious.
Cardan was such a hard character to love at first but throughout the series he has continually tugged at my heartstrings with words of love and longing for love. I could never deny him my love. When he turned into a serpent, I felt what Jude felt fr. I missed him a lot. I feel like this book definitely needed more Cardan because he is such a ray of sunshine.
I will miss them both. I will miss their banters and reading about the love they have for each other and them yearning for one another. I am glad they have their happiness after all the jokes, lies, tricks, and betrayals. They deserve every little happiness.
