finished days ago and forgot whoops…
interestingly written can definitely tell it’s a middle grade and it’s an interesting plot just kind of underdeveloped

This was OK for a quick horror/ thriller. I still enjoy  these at the ripe old age of 41. This is not one of my favourites.  I started reading it physically but then I found on the plus catalogue of audiable.
A quick easy to follow horror thriller.  I'd recommend these to teenagers or young adults who want to try reading this genre. I loved them when I was in my teens and own physical copies of most titles.

I probably would have enjoyed this had I read it in 1990 when it was first published. I remember reading a lot of books like it and having few complaints. Storytelling has changed a lot since then, I guess, because instead of eating up the drama and mystery, I was just frustrated by the wishy-washy attitudes of literally every character. Granted, it’s a short book, but there’s not a lot of time to actually care about the characters so I didn’t get as invested as I’d hoped. It’s fine if you want something short to fill an empty hour or two.

This was a really fun audio cassette dramatisation - well acted, cheesy fun.

One of my long-time favourites, some of the names are a bit odd Beak, Doss, Guy-Joe... But the story is good, the revelations, the wonder, the ending. I've always thought a sequel would go well with this one, it's happened before in the Point Horror universe with The Babysitter and Halloween Night.

Is there a sequel to this, cause it drives me crazy when a story leaves it so open for the bad guy to rise again.

I have read quite a few Diane Hoh books and they have been really good for the most part. Learning that this was her first thriller, it is good for the a first. Though if I had to compare this to her future books, it is not as well written. Nevertheless I enjoyed it and it had some fun twists and turns. I do not know if it is a re-read book though.
