I'm not minding anymore the fact that this is a prequel, of sorts. I was afraid they'd jump around to a bunch of different people but that's not the case. So I guess we've just got a new cast of characters with their own intriguing stories and I'm ok with that.
The watercolor flashbacks were a nice touch as well.

Christ, I love this series. These one-shots are really strong and are really stretching the concept in interesting ways. Really loved the art here, though I wish the series overall would stick to the vibrancy delineation they established in the first issue so it's clear who's been Beautied and who hasn't.
