Let it be said: Peter Meineck's translation of Aeschylus's trilogy of drama is fine, but this book is otherwise garbage. The footnotes aren't very helpful, aren't very easily sourced to the material it annotates, and the cover design is resolutely the worst I have ever seen for a collection of Greek drama.

I found this cycle of plays to be quite profound for what it has to say about breaking a cycle of violence and revenge. The exploration of what justice is can also be seen as the plays progress. I think this is a classic that I will be revisiting again.

i mean its a classic no doubt with a lot of merit, but aeschylus is notoriously dense and wordy and it’s not my favorite electra rendition
