Concise, practical information for parents. I like how Wenner Moyer breaks the book down into a handful of common problems that today's parents may face and details multiple useful strategies for dealing with each, although many involve using basic common sense. Although I feel fairly confident that I am on the right path raising my nine-year-old son, this book gave me several ideas of how I can improve my current interactions with him as well as several topics to be aware of in the near future.

Good parenting book

I really enjoyed this book! I rented it from the library and will probably buy it for future reference. My one problem with it is that the author makes some pretty sweeping conclusions and assumptions after the studies she writes about.

Very helpful book for a new mother! I skimmed over a lot of the studies, because once you read the first example I'm like okay I get it, I don't need to read the next ten. But overall very helpful book.

This book was an incredible, must-read for all parents (and maybe even teachers, counselors, and other employees who regularly work with children). Not only did the book provide references to a multitude of contemporary research, but the anecdotal evidence of ways parents can help their kids be anti-racist, tech savvy, and navigate sex with maturity and respect for themselves and others was refreshingly transparent.

This book can be read cover to cover (as I devoured it), or isolated chapter by chapter as a person's interests are piqued. I was struck by how simple and straight forward the advice was, and how willing the author was to acknowledge the way privilege impacts the way our children are raised and our parenting experiences. I will be recommending this book to ALL parents, especially the final chapter on sex and pornography, as that is the one domain of parenthood that I think most people are uncomfortable addressing with their children.

This. Book. Was. AMAZING!
