Together We Ride is a sweet book about learning to ride a bike and then going on a bike ride as a family. The text is rhyming, short, and simple, which makes it impactful for young readers, and the gorgeous illustrations will captivate readers of all ages. I love the focus on the father/daughter relationship depicted in the book, although I have been reading this with my son in hopes that he’d get over his nervousness to get on a bike - and he did! We’ll be revisiting this again next year when he’s ready to take off the training wheels. This book would make a great addition to preschool libraries and a great Father’s Day gift!

Limited text - just a few simple words, but so much is shown through the emotion and energy in Juanita's illustrations.

Eh. It's fine. Very spare text with 1-2 words per page as a Black father teaches his daughter to ride a bike. Not my favorite art style and I think the choice to do a story about riding a bike with such sparse text for a younger audience is a weird choice given kids are actually older and ready for longer stories by the time they are learning to ride a bike.

This is a really sweet and joyful picture book of a young girl learning to ride a bike with her father. The text is super simple, one or two words per page, each rhyming (or slant rhyming) with the word "ride" as a young girl tries, falls, and gets up again to learn to ride her bike. Detailed, realistic illustrations by Kaylani Juanita are colorful and joyous, depicting a neighborhood overlooking San Francisco Bay.

Together We Ride is perfect for little ones as young as 3 with gorgeous illustrations and fun rhymes. Such a sweet story of a father guiding and encouraging his little one as she conquers her fear, doesn't give up, and eventually celebrates her first bike ride.
This would make a great gift for Father's Day or for any little one who is hitting that milestone of learning to ride a bike. I will definitely be sharing this one with all my grandbabies 🥰
