I'm familiar with Talia Hibbert's romances through her Brown Sisters series, which I mostly enjoyed, primarily because of the complex mental health of her main characters. I wanted to explore some of her other work, and Work for It was recommended by a bookstagrammer. In it, the trope of sunshine/grump is upended and it's really a grump/grump story, which I am here for. In a small village, Griffin Everett works on a farm. He is an outcast among the village and tends to lean into his love of botany and is a bit of a recluse. Enter Keynes, who comes to the village from the city under unclear circumstances. While there is an immediate spark of attraction between the two, they both put up walls. Will they be broken (spoiler alert: yes)? It is pretty spicy and I enjoyed the complex history of the two men and was definitely pulling for both of them.

This is a mlm romance, which I didn't know because I only picked it up because I like this author, but the book was really pretty.  I wanna say Griffin is in the autism spectrum, the same way the author is but I could definitely be wrong. I really liked the characters and how they engage with each other and their friends, and how they develop and come to their own realizations.
