Wtf did I just read there is so much to unpack here. Here are the notes I made after only reading 60-ish pages.

How many times is the MMC going to talk about bringing down the family šŸ™„ And saying this shit to said family.  Why would they make someone with such little strategic thinking CEO in the first place. Heā€™s like drakken from Kim possible monologuing his nefarious plans. šŸ™ƒ

Why are all these billionaires in the military. None of itā€™s explained itā€™s just like the author has a military kink. None of this is relevant to the story or if it becomes relevant I donā€™t care.

British characters using American English šŸ˜¬

Girly pop needs an editor and someone to tell her no.

"Oh, for the love of Game of Thrones, I'm coming," I yell again, then reach the door, throw it open, and freeze.

Okay the fragile rock one might have been kind of cute and a habit lift from childhood, and thatā€™s me reaching. No one says for the love of game of thrones. Like what????

This author is chronically online I read to escape. This reads like someone who does nothing but scroll mindlessly on TikTok wrote it. I donā€™t want to hear about Taylor swift or booktok or about your cookies you named after genitalia. This is so juvenile.

I spent several nights trying to care about the couple but they were just boring.

***POSSIBLE SPOILERS***

This is my first book by L. Steele and I am adding them all to my TBR now. This is SPICY!!!!! Loved the story and the characters. Heā€™s wanted her and only her since they first kissed when she turned 18; but she was off limits (best friendā€™s sister). She thinks sheā€™s not good enough because she is not a beautiful size 4; but that doesnā€™t matter to him - he wants her. There is a lot of passion, romance, and spiciness throughout the book. There was such a huge plot twist and when I tell you my jaw dropped - I had to pick my jaw up off the ground and had a loud gasp! I couldnā€™t believe it! Nathan did something he thought was best for Skylar, even though he ended up hurting her. After hearing the plot twist, Skylar is so hurt and angry, you can hear the emotion in the writing. Looking forward to book 2 - Quentin and Vivianā€™s story.

This was all-around bad. I liked other books by this author but this was blatantly TikTok-oriented. I might read the next one because I'm so intrigued by the set up.
